Subject: Product Evaluation Results -
Leatherique
Date: Sun, 27 Sep 1998 From: Dale Lockwood <lockwood@gte.net> First, let me say that the following is a report of my personal, subjective test observations of the Leatherique products, Rejuvenator Oil and Prestine Clean. Test: I decided the fairest test I could personally perform would be on more than one interior. I used both of my 1992 cars with equally aged, but different finished leather. The 300E has a heavier black porous leather with a finish and weight I would liken to a football. The 300SD has a much smoother light grey 'sealed' glovelike leather. Product Applications: I began on the S class. At first I thought I may have been overapplying the Rejuvinator Oil as it seemed to sit on the surface without noticeable absorbtion. The S class despite a near-new interior has had unknown leather care prior to my ownership this year. It has been cleaned and conditioned several times this summer. The same amount of the Oil was used on the 300E, and that leather which has been cleaned and conditioned at least 3X/year drank the Rejuvinator in so fast that by the time I got to the 4th seat, the first was nearly "dry". In both cases the product was easy to apply following manufacturer's directions using a spray bottle and massaging it in by hand. My hand verified that the term "Oil" is just a name as the product left no oily feel on my skin but was more of a moisturizer. The S class steamed overnight in my hot Texas garage. The E got the sun treatment for 4 hours this morning. The next step was to apply the Prestine Clean, again spray bottle and massage in by hand. The intention is to now remove leather contaminants/dirt that the Rejuvinator Oil had deposited on the surface. It seemed like a peculiar exercise at first - after all, I have religiously kept my leather clean and conditioned: as recently as LAST WEEK. I slathered it all over, waited about 10-15 minutes then using a terry towel dampened with warm water began wiping off the residue. I could not believe the dirt that ended up on the cloth! The claim that the Rejuvinator Oil "floats" the dirt to the surface seemed real. Summary: It looks like the Leatherique Products are a winner. I suspect that after a few treatments cycled into the leather, and use from the beginning on a new interior would probably keep the leather showroom new indefinitely. The light grey leather in the S class is brighter than ever and has an appearance of being more substantial and not as flat as it was. The 300E although super cleaned going in, produced a fair amount of dirt removed and an area that was stiff has gained considerable flexibilty. Both interiors feel "treated" but there is no residue that ends up on hands or clothes. Compared to the old stand by Lexol products, the Leatherique products methodology makes more sense: You put stuff on, soak it in then clean off the surface rather than clean the surface and drive the residue down into the leather with the conditioner. I would keep the Lexol on the economy list as something better than nothing to be sure, and add Leatherique as the new standard for "the right way to do it". Compared to Lexol the Leatherique is considerably more expensive... but compared to your neighbor's Pinto, your MB is worth it. Bravo, Leatherique! To make a long story short, it turned out AWESOME. Looks like new, no, better than new because the dye job was done by hand and carefully...... Bottom line, I am VERY satisfied with my results (and I think you would be too..even though this was my first time) -Regards -Bruce, Corvette Club of America I want to say that I am especially impressed with the quality and finish of your dye, which perfectly matches the original color of the leather! I can tell you that the finished result (including new leather installation on the binnacle, a-pillar trim, and dashboard, as well as the aforementioned seats) passed the inspection of the most picky Lotus man I know, my mechanic Ralph Stechow of RS Motorsports. I know he uses your rejuvenator oil on cars that go thru the shop, and was impressed with the results. I want to thank you for producing such an excellent line of products, and, if my 2-cents is worth anything, please accept my endorsement, freely given, of your product, its quailty, and the results obtainable if you are serious about protecting and preserving the interior of any fine automobile. If any potential customers want to discuss the process, the results, or the quality of what you do, I would be more than happy to give them my recommendation. Good job, guys! Bryan D. Dear George, Just a little note to tell you how pleased I am at how easy it was to repair my loveseat with your products. It looks like brand new!! I would recommend your company to anyone and I have already told my friends (and anyone else who would listen) how great your products are, and that your customer service went beyond all my expectations. Again my sincere thanks for all your help.

I have tried virtually every leather conditioner on the market in the search for a perfect maintenance product. Until I discovered Leatherique Rejuvenator, I thought that Lexol was the best. But Leatherique is an order of magnitude beyond Lexol. I find the experience of massaging the Leatherique into the leather to be so enjoyable that I do it monthly, even though my cars are garage kept! As you know, the Vanden Plas interior is all leather, so the Rejuvenator was used on the front and back of the seats, the door panels and armrests, and even on those very few pieces that are vinyl. The car came up in show winning condition. In short, I believe this to be the best leather treatment available and I have recommended it to every Jaguar owner I meet. Thanks for making a great product. Dr. Gregory Andrachuk, Jaguar Car Club, Canada
Your’re products always take FIRST PRIZE!! Clearly having followed your instructions [from memory, due to past usage] I was able within a few hours able to transform a sorry looking mess of an untidy 'Everflex' top into what it was and should have always been. After carefully cleaning it, and removing 'runs' in the 'sealer' that the dealer had put on the top on NAT57512 was clean and bare. It only took one coat with a very soft old (but very clean) brush to restore the top. Again, my most profound thanks. Your kindness and generosity to the car fraternity are indeed boundless!
